Curamik Electronics expands our solutions for power electronics

On January 4, 2011, Rogers Corporation announced that it has acquired Curamik Electronics GmbH, a manufacturer of power electronic substrate products headquartered in Eschenbach, Germany.

Curamik is the worldwide leader for development and production of direct copper bonded (DCB) ceramic substrate products used in the design of intelligent power management devices, such as Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT) modules. These devices enable a wide range of products including highly efficient industrial motor drives, wind and solar energy converters and hybrid electric vehicle drive systems.

We assure our customers that they can expect continued reliability, performance, and service from Curamik as we work to integrate this exciting business into the Rogers organization.

	Will there be any changes in sales and customer service support? Our goal is to continue to rely on the Curamik sales and customer service support team to support the Curamik product line. Currently, Curamik provides support to customers through its facilities in Eschenbach, Germany and sales offices in Addison, Texas (US), Tokyo, Japan, and Hong Kong, China. As we learn more about opportunities for improvement, we will work to address these to provide the best local support for our customers.
	Will there be any change in manufacturing location or logistics? Manufacturing will remain in Eschenbach, Germany. We will work to share logistics support and services wherever possible for optimum customer support.
	Is there any plan to change the current CURAMIK brand name? No. CURAMIK is a strong brand in power electronics and our intention is to retain and build upon this important asset.
